Sony is reportedly to unveil a new flagship smartphone, the Xperia Z6, next year. There are already numerous speculations surfacing the Internet these days about this forthcoming handset, and one of these is that it is alleged to be released during the Mobile World Congress in February 2016.

Though the Sony Xperia Z5 has just been released, a new smartphone from the company is rumored to be arriving next year. The recent trend of the Japanese multinational conglomerate corporation in launching its upcoming devices is at approximately six-month interval. Thus, the speculated release date of the Z6 on February 2016 has the six months gap from the IFA 2015. Nonetheless, this is just a pure prediction.

Unfortunately, there is only a little information about the alleged Xperia Z6. However, reports claim that it will sport a 5.2-inch screen with either 1080 by 1920 resolution or Ultra HD display like that of the Z5. Under the hood, it will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor with 3GB or 4GB of RAM and will run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system out of the box.

Moreover, the new Sony Xperia handset is expected to include a bigger battery size, 16GB or 32GB of built-in storage, wireless charging feature, and a USB Type-C port. The features added in the Z5 might also be incorporated in the new Z6, which include anti-fingerprint coating glass panel, water and dust resistance, as well as fingerprint scanner. Design wise, it will probably have Sony's OmniBalance design.

In terms of retail pricing, the Xperia Z6 might cost at around $800. It will still depend upon the specifications and features included in the handset.

On the whole, Sony has yet to confirm all the speculations about its upcoming Xperia Z6. The prediction that it will come in February 2016 might not hold true; hence, everyone should wait for the official announcement of the company in the coming days.
