HTC has promised to deliver the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update to its handsets, and finally, that promise has been fulfilled as HTC One M8 already got the latest OS. Now, it is speculated that the HTC One M9 will be the next one to receive the newest operating system.

According to International Business Times, Mo Versi, Vice President of HTC's Product Management department, stated that HTC aims to release the Android 6.0 Marshmallow to the One M8 Google Play Edition in October. Unluckily, October just passed by and still there was no update that was sent out the One M8 devices. The company has been very thankful for avid HTC tech users who waited for the update. Versi has now confirmed Android 6.0 Marshmallow has officially arrived for the One M8 Google Play Edition version.

It was known that HTC One M8 (Google Play Edition) is no longer supported by HTC, according to Neurogadget. So the update was really a great surprise for the owners as they have never expected that the latest Android OS update will be released to their handsets. Furthermore, the HTC One M8 doesn't work on the HTC UI Sense, meaning it will come only with the Android-based updates.

The Android Marshmallow update is a big one with a size of 450.4 MB. This upgrade will actually take up huge space in the device's storage space. Hereafter, the users of the HTC One M8 are requested to make sure that their devices contain the required space for the update to be installed.

Apart from the HTC One M8, it was also reported that the HTC One M9 will be another device that will be updated to the Android Marshmallow in the upcoming days.

Yibada stated on its article that the Android 6.0 Marshmallow will fix the Stage Fright 2.0 vulnerability and the issues of overheating and touch lag. The material design will also receive many noticeable changes.

As the HTC One M8 finally receives the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update it would also obtain some improvements and enhancements. Meanwhile, HTC One M9 owners need to play the waiting game again until HTC announces the release date of Android M OTA rollout to their devices.
