Fans can expect a trailer for 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2' on December. With the first movie amassing domestic and international success, producers decided to add more characters like Beebop, Rocksteady, General Krang and Casey Jones. The sequel's plot may include how the turtles came to be.
The first trailer for 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2' is scheduled to be released this coming December according to a report by International Business Times. Actor Stephen Amell who plays Casey Jones teased that the trailer will be attached to one of the big movies that will be released next month. The actor said, "If you're a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Fan, then you're going to want to go to the theatre in December before a relatively big movie that's being released for a fantastic trailer."
There are speculations that Amell is referring to 'The Big Short' which is also being distributed by Paramount. However, there are also some speculations that since Amell said 'relatively big', then what else could it be but Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
Aside from a new trailer, fans should also expect familiar characters from the original storyline. According to Toy News, Marianne James, Vice President of Nickelodeon & Viacom Consumer Products (NVCP) UK & Ireland & European Retail Sales, said "The first movie was a huge success and the next installment will bring us Casey Jones along with fan favorites Bebop and Rocksteady." She also added, "It's going to be massive with a toy and action figure range to complement the release. We are very excited at developing the movie franchise with all new product and retail activations."
This just confirmed that Beebop and Rocksteady alongside Casey Jones will be joining the cast of the upcoming film. Christian Post reports that there are a lot more characters that will be featured in the sequel. Victoria's Secret Model Alessandra Ambrosio is joining the cast but her role has not been confirmed yet..
Shredder returns but with a new actor behind the mask. According to The Global Dispatch, Brian Tee will be playing the evil metal clad villain. In an interview, Tee said, "I think he's much more grounded in reality, in a sense. In talking to the producers, writers and director, they really wanted to put a face to Shredder, which they never had before. Shredder has always been kind of behind the mask. They want Shredder to be a grounded human being that's a bad (expletive). Hopefully that will shine through."
Fans can also expect familiar faces like the evil alien villain General Krang, an alien villain who is rumored will be rendered in CGI.
Reprising his role as Dr. Erick Sacks is William Fichtner who recently hinted that fans can expect an origin story in the plot.
