The 81 contestants who are all vying to capture the Miss Universe 2015 crown have finally arrived in Las Vegas, Nevada. Clearly, the girls are already all set for the beauty pageant. This just means that the Colombian beauty queen Paulina Vega will soon have to pass her title to one of the lucky ladies.
Now on its 64th year, Miss Universe will have a new format as well as be televised back-to-back with Miss World 2015 (which will be broadcasted live on December 19 from Sanya, China). Christian Post also added that Miss Universe will now be under William Morries Endeavor/International Management Group (WME/IMG), which was announced just last September.
"Miss Universe is a unique, global media property and this partnership with Fox marks a new era for The Miss Universe Organization as a whole," IMG SVP Michael Antinoro said (via International Business Times).
He added, "As the broadcast leader in innovative and groundbreaking live events, Fox is the perfect partner as we look to implement new and exciting changes to this show and the franchise."
Known to produce fashion shows in Berlin, Sydney and New York, WME/IMG has also done producing global lifestyle festivals and shows. Examples are Lollapalooza and Taste Festivals and the upcoming "Macy's Presents Fashion's Front Row", respectively.
Businessman Donald Trump, who is also currently a US presidential candidate, previously shared the Miss Universe with NBC Universal. However, due to Trump's comments on Mexican immigrants, NBC and Univision (which airs the contest) have cut their ties with him.
As for the die-hard fans of the beauty pageant, Jobs & Hire shared good news as the top 12 favorite candidates right now have been named by Missossology. They are:
1. Whitney Shikongco (Angola)
2. Annelies Toros (Belgium)
