“The Killing” Season News: Season 5 “Far from happening”; Will Season 4 end with no questions left unanswered?

By

While rumors surrounding the renewal of the "The Killing" are making its rounds online, show creator and executive producer, Veena Sud revealed that the show's return for a fifth season might not be happening, KpopStraz reports.

While Netflix seems to be wanting to give the show another run, Sud suggested that there is nothing else that could be told about Linden and Holder. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, she said that the show was planned to end that way.

"This is the end game and this is how it was envisioned from the beginning - that it will end this way. I believe there is no more story to tell after this. We truly end their story at the end of this season, so no, I don't think there's any more to tell," Sud said.

The show creator also revealed she did not want any other ending besides what was originally planned. In a report by Kdrama Stars, Sud also revealed that being picked up by Netflix allowed them to end the series the way they have planned it.

"After coming back from the dead twice, it absolutely feels like a victory lap. Not only were we able to come back twice, but this final season is how I wanted to end the story of Sarah Linden from the very beginning," she said.

The show was originally picked up by AMC in 2011 and was cancelled two times in its three-season run before it was picked up by Netflix for a six-episode finale season.

While Sud did not dish out details of the ending, she assured that fans will get to know all the answers to their questions.

"There was a quest for all of us to answer all the unanswered questions. So creatively, there's an expansiveness in being on a platform that doesn't have commercial breaks and you can use language that cops would really actually use on the street," she told The Hollywood Reporter.

Sud, however, hinted that viewers can expect the best of drama the show has to offer and compared the fourth and final season to a "bullet train rushing to the end."

"It's the biggest movement and the most dramatic for all the characters because as you saw from the end of season three, Linden and Holder are in the center of this storm because of what they did in the woods."

Meanwhile, Netflix released the synopses of the upcoming episodes of the show's fourth season. In order of episodes, the titles are "Blood in the Water," "Unravelling," "The Good Soldier," "Dream Baby Dream," "Truth Asunder," and "Eden."
