Movies are sometimes a one-hit wonder but there are a few great movies that deserve a sequel because fans came to love the characters and are asking for more. This is a list of the five top movies that people would like to see a sequel of and it includes "Inception," "John Carter," "American Sniper," "Silver Linings Playbook" and "The Godfather."
Let's First take on "Inception," which people found very intriguing and mind-blowing. The movie was directed by Christopher Nolan and it is a dream-based thriller that is established by mythology. There are so many hung-ups on this film that needs a follow-up and maybe not just one sequel. Fans are asking about what happened to the "spinning top" and although it is the last film produced by Cobb, a lot are still hoping that the tables will turn.
The next movie that deserves a sequel is "John Carter" which was about this earthling who was able to go to Mars and became a hero. However, it was one of the biggest flops in the Hollywood industry as an estimated amount of $250 million went into the production but the movie only garnered $280 million when it was released in 2012. Weirdly, fans are asking for more as a press release six months ago cited that they are looking for another studio to produce a sequel of the filml. John Carter 2 might actually be a big thing in the future if it happens as fans believe that it could be as great as "Dumb and Dumber Too" and "Kick-Ass 2" since both films have been dropped by the original producers and were made famous when another studio took them in for production.
The third movie is "American Sniper" and this fan-favorite biopic film was not expected to have a sequel but the plot was so good that fans are asking if there is a possibility of a second film from the best-selling American book. The film is about Chris Kyle played by Bradley Cooper and it talks about being in the war. It is by far the highest-grossing war film in the movie industry. Fans wanted to see how the protagonist trained for being a gold medalist in sniping. Although Kyle is already dead in real life, people want to see more of how he became well-known in his field rather than just having a glimpse every now and then as opposed to the first film.
We also listed "Silver Linings Playbook" as this movie took the world by storm. This film is one of the best performances of Jennifer Lawrence as she veers away from her iconic role as Katniss Everdeen in the film "The Hunger Games." Also, his connection with Bradley Cooper is just so captivating that fans love seeing them as an on-screen couple. They have worked on the upcoming film "Serena" but it would be great for fans to see a sequel to the film "Silver Linings Playbook" and see what happens to their romantic relationship, which was based on a very shaky and rocky start.
Lastly, "The Godfather" being cited as one of the greatest movies ever produced, it deserves the coined name and it needs a sequel although it already had two. Fans are talking about a fourth movie in order to see how the Corleones made it through the current time as they are known to have feared it.
"Inception," "John Carter," "American Sniper," "Silver Linings Playbook" and "The Godfather" are definitely favorites and should have a sequel. What films would you want to have a sequel if given the change? Sound off in the comments.
