GTX 980 Ti has finally been confirmed as the next flagship card in the Nvidia line of graphics processors.

Nvidia CEO Jen-Hsun Huang himself confirmed the GeForce GTX 980 Ti codename and the features of the next installment in the GeForce 900 series to Videocardz.

The GeForce GTX 980 Ti will be the cheaper GM200-310 GPU.

The GTX 980 Ti will also have five display outputs: 3 Display Ports, DVI-I, and HDMI.

In comparison with the GTX Titan X's 12 GB memory capacity, the GTX 980 Ti will have half at 6 GB of GDDR5 memory paired up with the same 384-bit memory interface.

Both cards are said to share the same board model although GTX 980 Ti will be available with a variety of custom cooling solutions: reference, watercooled, custom-air-cooled, and hybrids.

GTX 980 Ti is set to target the unreleased Radeon graphics cards, according to Videocards.

The upcoming new high-end graphics card will be part of the future Nvidia lineup.

Chief Executive Officer Jen-Hsun spoke at the company's quarterly conference with investors and financial analysts about the soon-to-be-released products. Kit Guru quotes the company chief as saying, "I cannot wait to tell you about the products that we have in the pipeline. There are more engineers at Nvidia building the future of GPUs than just about anywhere else in the world. We are singularly focused on visual computing"

Videocardz marks the GTX 980 Ti for released this May although the Nvidia executive would not confirm the release date advising everyone "to wait a little longer" to find out more about the next Nvidia products.

Fudzilla foresees a possible June launch at the Computex 2015 or even at the end of the summer to allow the company to sell more GTX Titan X graphics cards and clear inventory of the GeForce GTX 980.

GTX 980 Ti is expected to come with a $599 launch price tag.
