Software and operating system giant Microsoft has partnered with tons of computer companies over the years, except for one and that's Apple. However, that was a thing of the past when Apple announced Boot Camp 6.
Boot Camp 6, according to Gadgets NDTV, is a service that was baked inside the OS X that gives Apple users an option to run the device on Windows. The service is Apple's multi-boot utility, which allows users to install Windows on Intel-based Macs, to officially support Windows 10, the report added.
Apple formally launched the service on Thursday and it comes with a set of updated drivers that is required to run the Microsoft operating system. Based on the official support site of Apple, the drivers installed should be updated in order for the Windows 10 to run. It also supports 64-bit versions of Windows 10 when used with a supported Mac, the website cited. It also listed all the Mac computers that can support Windows 10. The list includes MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, MacBook, iMac, Mac Mini, and Mac Pro.
In addition, Apple dedicated website Mac Rumors noted that the Boot Camp 6 will also include support for some of Mac features within the Windows 1 0 such as USB 3, USB C, Thunderbolt, built in SD, and SDCX card slots, built in or External Apple SuperDrives, and the Apple keyboard, mouse and trackpad.
The Boot Camp 6 requires an authentic copy of the latest Microsoft operating system which can be purchased from Microsoft in an ISO file or USB stick.
Previous Windows like 7, 8 and 8.1 can also be upgraded to the Windows 10 without cost as long as it is within the Window's partition and the software is completely up to date, the website added.
Apple and Windows may have been known as bitter rivals with regard to the operating system department but with the introduction of the Boot Camp 6, it only shows that slowly but surely, the technology giants are emerging for a greater cause.
