A new Android 6.0 Marshmallow custom ROM has been successfully ported by TeamJB from Nexus 6 allowing the software version to upgrade LG G3 units. However, the download will only be available to select LG G3 devices, including D858HK (Hong Kong), D855 (European region), and D850 (AT&T).

G3 can now be updated to Android 6.0 Marshmallow's third developer preview based on Nexus 6 which has build version V20e. As far as the Android community is concerned, G3 is the first lucky device to get ROM support of Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

TeamJB first released the version 2.0 of the update last September 16 with a few fixes and overall system performance improvements. The android 6.0 Marshmallow ROM also brings with it fixes to camera app issues, boot loop, dysfunctional 4G/LTE, and when phone restarts after 30 minutes. The developer however there are still remaining bugs in the ROM as it is still on beta stage.

LG G2 has been reported to have problems that not any update of Google has patched until now. With TeamJB's ROM developed, the following bugs have been resolved:

  • Dialer crashes when calling a number even signals are shown
  • Messaging app crashes/fails to launch
  • Dysfunctional Gallery
  • Dysfunctional 3G
  • Dysfunctional Airplane mode
  • Bluetooth error
  • NFC error
  • LG app force closing
  • Internet and other system issues
