EP Chad Hodge insisted that the show was meant for 10 episodes, however, rumors suggest that Wayward Pines' Season 2 is possible and it will have a new set of characers and cast. On the other hand, the previous season has ended with a cliffhanger.

Executive producer Chad Hodge insisted that 'Wayward Pines' was only meant to be a mini-series. Despite Chad's statements, the renewal for Season 2 is still a possibility. On the side note, sources like Youth Health Mag has reported that Crouch and producer Shyamalan are in talks for a new storyline.

Rumors are also circulating online that a potential 'Wayward Pines' Season 2 would have a new set of characters and cast. However, the show will still be in the same world. As mentioned on Christian Today, M. Night Shyamalan and author Blake Crouch revealed last July 2015 that they do have ideas for the upcoming season.

Moreover, 'Wayward Pines' Season 1 ended with a cliffhanger. Cross Map noted that in the finale episode, Ethan sacrificed his life in order to save the town from being attacked by monsters. However Ethan's son was critically injured and had a coma. Then, he wakes up to realize that the town is now being run by kids his age. Meanwhile, the adults were trapped in a hidden location.

An executive producer insisted that the show was only meant to be a mini-series that was set to consist of 10 episodes. However, rumor has it that the show may continue for a new season which will have a new set of cast and characters. In line with this, the previous season ended with a cliffhanger.

As of now, 'Wayward Pines' Season 2 has no official premiere date that has been announced just yet. 'Wayward Pines' is an American TV series based in a novel with the same name by Blake Crouch.
