HK Football Boss Jorn Andersen Reportedly Resigns

According to ESPN's latest report, Hong Kong will go against Iran for the FIFA World Cup Qualifier on June 6. Unfortunately, the head coach of Hong Kong's soccer team allegedly resigned.

Because of this, the football boss is now covered in mystery. News about his resignation surfaced on Monday, May 27. However, Jorn Andersen declined to comment regarding the news of his resignation.

However, the football head coach proposed that he would talk about the matter with the media on Wednesday, May 29. The Football Association of Hong Kong didn't clarify what the press conference would really discuss.

Why is Jorn Andersen Resigning?

As of press time, the Football Association of Hong Kong has not confirmed Jorn Andersen's resignation. Even chairman Eric Fok Kai-san refused to comment.

People familiar with Jorn Andersen's activities said the football boss has been discussing a contract extension with the FA chiefs. This is because his contract expires in June 2025, as The South China Morning Post reported.

However, they claim that the head coach isn't happy with some of his employers' decisions. Because of this, he has been publicly criticizing FIFA.

Among the issues that he's complaining about is how the governing body fails to send representatives to the Asian competition in Qatar. But it's unclear if he resigned because of this.
