Kendrick Lamar Pens Emotional Tribute To 2Pac On His 19th Death Anniversary

Hip Hop rapper, Kendrick Lamar paid tribute to the iconic rapper 2Pac on his 19th year death anniversary.  To kick off the tribute, the "Bitch, Don't Kill My Vibe" singer wrote a very emotional message to 2Pac on his official online page.

In the letter originally penned by the Compton rapper, he described how 2Pac influenced his singing  career.  According to The Guardian, his latest album, "To Pimp a Butterfly" was inspired by 2Pac.  He even recorded the last song, , "A Mortal Man,"  featuring the real interview he made with the late rapper.

"I was 8 yrs old when I first saw you. I couldn't describe how I felt at that moment. So many emotions. Full of excitement. Full of joy and eagerness. 20 yrs later I understand exactly what that feeling was. INSPIRED," Lamar wrote. "The people that you touched on that small intersection changed lives forever. I told myself I wanted to be a voice for man one day. Whoever knew I was speaking out loud for u to listen. Thank you, K.L."

Meanwhile, this month, a two-page original written lyrics by 2Pac  will be on sale at Sotheby's. The lyrics penned by the rapper while he was in prison includes draft sheet of "Ambitionz Az a Ridah""Tradin' War Stories. " The lyrics are expected to fetch an amount of more than $100,000 (£64,735). 2Pac died on Sept. 13, 1996 six days after he was shoot-to-death in Las Vegas.

Meanwhile, Lamar's dream to work with Janet Jackson, came true on Friday, Sept. 11 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The superstar jammed with the rapper during his Unbreakable World Tour and sang Lamar's song, "Poetic Justice." She will be seen next in Raleigh,  North Carolina, Bet.com reports.

According to the 28-year-old Lamar,  his last track covers a conversation between him and the legendary rapper with 2Pac's interview with Swedish journalist, Mats Nileskär. He said the song was originally entitled  Tu Pimp a Caterpillar, which translates to the short version, TuPac until it was finally made To Pimp a Butterfly.
