Dakota Johnson, the American actress and model who is slated to return as Anastasia Steele in the movie "Fifty Shades Darker, has made a jaw-dropping revelation.
While being honored at the Elle Women in Hollywood celebration, the 26-year-old beauty took the opportunity to surprise the audience by revealing her crazy music and fashion choices. According to E! Online, while referring to her mom Melanie Griffith and Grandmother Tippi Hedren, she said, "I want to thank you both for encouraging me and supporting me in all of my endeavors."
She continued, "Excluding the time you let me cornrow my hair on vacation and my scalp got sunburned and also when I thought it would be cool to pierce my belly button and I wore dangling jewelry from it. Also excluding when I went through that phase of listening to Phish, the ska band spelled with a 'P-h' and when I changed my name to my cellular telephone voicemail to Bliss. Basically, I want to un-thank you for all the times I embarrassed myself and I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for everything else."
Johnson was given the Calvin Klein Spotlight Award, presented by Leslie Man. After the Elle Night, Johnson might be more than just the face of Anastacia Steele. She has impressed the audience with a very brave and compelling speech, which at first sounded like an impromptu.
According to Variety, Johnson said at the stage, "Throughout the surprisingly in depth self-reflection I went through writing this speech, I found a common thread between women and Hollywood: I found that women working in Hollywood demonstrate epic bravery. A bravery that has created a foundation for us to begin to change the course of history, and the ways women in Hollywood are treated. I feel incredibly proud of that, and I thank you for allowing me to be a part of it."
During the same night, Dakota has also revealed that her mom still refuses to watch her scandalous movie, "Fifty Shades of Grey". But her parent's opinion of her movie does not stop her from doing the same role for the upcoming 2 sequels "Fifty Shades Darker" and "Fifty Shades Freed"
Dakota Johnson must have been very brave to accept the "Fifty Shades of Grey" but her revelation about her music taste, fashion choices and her opinion on the women in Hollywood was an even braver move.
