Little Big Planet 3 Gets "Back to the Future" DLC to Celebrate the Future

By

The future is the destination and where we're going, we don't need roads. That future is October 21, 2015, the same day that Little Big Planet 3 dropped its Back to the Future DLC in celebration of Back to the Future Day.

It can be recalled in Back to the Future 2 that Dr. Emmett Brown brought Marty McFly to October 21, 2015. His purpose was to prevent Marty's son from participating in a robbery masterminded by Griff, the grandson of the franchise villain, Biff Tannen.

In 2015, Marty found himself in another wild and wacky adventure while he soaks in future technology like holograms, hoverboards, and auto lacing shoes.

Little Big Planet, the flagship puzzle-platformer franchise of Sony, is getting on the bandwagon in a big way. A few weeks ago, Pepsi got into the spirit by manufacturing Pepsi Perfect. Nike also jumped in with the Nike Air Mcfly's 2015 Auto Lace Shoes.

This new fully-packed DLC will feature two new costume packs, a new level kit, a hoverboard power-up, plus new stickers and music.

According to Digital Spy, the DLC will have, "New Back to the Future-inspired costumes...based on Marty McFly's 2015 clothing, Doc Brown's 2015 clothing and Biff Tannen's 1955 clothing."

Polygon writer Michael McWhertor said that the costume packs will set you back $5.99 each. All these new elements can be used to design various Back to the Future themed creations which players can play and share.

Sony released the Back to the Future DLC teaser video featuring all the DLC packs. The main protagonist of the game Sackboy looks great dressed as Marty, Doc Brown, and Biff. They even have costumes for Jane Parker, erstwhile love interest and future wife of Marty.

Little Big Planet was released on November 18, 2014 to mixed reviews. Metacritic scored the game at a satisfactory 79, with a user score of 7.1. This special DLC package will surely bolster the stock of this game even further.

The DLC doesn't veer away much from the fantastical and carefree vibe of the original Little Big Planet game. Sackboy on a hoverboard looks so much fun and it seems to add a ton of whimsical nostalgia to an already solid game.
