Dr. Who comes back in the form of an audio drama rather than a television series. According to Metro, successful author Jenny T. Colgan, a self-confessed Who fan, is one of the writers for the new series.
David Tennant has tried audio adventures before appearing in BBC and Big Finish a few years ago. Executive producer Nick Briggs said he enjoyed working with all the Doctors on TV but David is the only one Nick has known before David became the Doctor. Along with the excitement directing the new Tenth Doctor adventures, Nick Briggs is happy to be working with David.
The Guardian informed that David Tennant will be joined by Catherine Tate who again plays as Donna Noble, his companion. The two will record Doctor Who: The Tenth Doctor Adventures for a UK company called Big Finish that produces sci-fi favorites of books and audio plays.
The first episode is titled "Technophobia", while the second is "Time Reaver", and the third recording is "Death and the Queen." The first episode "Technophobia" is set in near-future London in which mankind is said to be losing its ability to use everyday technology. The second episode, "Time Reaver", is set on a mechanical planet and contains a black market economy with a dark secret. In "Death and the Queen", Donna apparently falls in love with a planet called Gortania but apparently, the Doctor has some misgivings.
A source from Radio Times has said that Tennant last appeared on the 50th anniversary episode of Doctor Who titled "The Day of the Doctor" but has not redeemed his role for a whole series since January 1, 2010. Tate left her role in 2008 of July but came back in the final episode.
A mix of emotions are in store for fans as producer David Richardson promised in an interview with these three audio dramas. Dr. Who: The Tenth Doctor will be released on May 2016.
