Idinvest Partners, a private equity firm from France, purchased a stake in KLS Partners. Along with this, KLS Partners announced its plan to initiate Kurma Biofund II, its second fund.
The investment of Idinvest Partners occurred as Natixis Private Equity exited the firm. Increased participation of the management team was seen after the transactions, prompting analysts to predict the company's continued growth.
Chief executive officer of Idinvest Partners Christophere Baviere commented on the stake purchase, "This investment comes after 10 years of our teams working together. When Thierry Laugel and Rémi Droller, two former Idinvest Partners employees, founded KLS Partners in 2010, they continued providing insight on Idinvest Partners' health sector investments."
"We are delighted to be able to pursue this partnership, which rounds out Idinvest's own ample expertise in digital and cleantech," continued Benoist Grossman, managing partner at Idinvest.
The latest Kurma fund will be dedicated to funding innovative and significant projects that tackle rare diseases.
