Avid Vikings fans could not hide their excitement as the premiere of "Vikings" Season 4 is coming close. The 20-episode fourth installment will be action-packed and full of twists and turns in the lives of the characters.

It has been confirmed directly by Clive Standen in an interview at Sydney's Oz Comic Con that the fourth season will run for 20 episodes. According to Ecumenical News, Clive revealed in an interview with The AU Review that they have finished filming for 10 episodes already and are currently taking a break from filming. The actor is best known for playing the role of Rollo in the popular show.

According to Vine Report, "Vikings" will add new characters this season as Travis Fimmell might decide to exit the show due to his big movie project "Warcraft". Travis plays the role of King Ragnar Lothbrok. Creator Michael Hirst have stated in a previous interview that he has always envisioned Vikings without Ragnar.

"I've always seen Vikings without Ragnar. I thought it was very important when I started thinking about this whole thing that Ragnar had many sons and some of his sons became more famous than he was," Hirst said.

This statement might be a confirmation that Travis might eventually exit this season.

Meanwhile, the trailer of "Vikings" Season 4 premiere episode hints on several unexpected turns. Rollo is set to marry Princess Gisela, Morgane Polanski, in Paris and infiltrate the people of Francce. However, it is also hinted in the trailer that the princess tries to kill him in his sleep. On the other hand, Ragnar serves a harsh punishment to Loki.

There is still no specific date released by the show's producers. However, it is expected that the fourth season will air by February 2016. According to International Business Times, it can be assumed that the season will premiere on the second week of February, specifically on February 11, since the last two seasons aired on the same month.

"Vikings" Season 4 will air on History Channel.
