An Android 6.0 Marshmallow custom ROM available for OnePlus One and LG G4 reportedly came with some annoying bugs. The Android Marshmallow update promises to bring new and improved features to LG, Samsung, and OnePlus devices by the end of 2015 or early 2016.
Neurogadget reported that a custom ROM for Android 6.0 Marshmallow is now available. However, users are warned because the Android Marshmallow custom ROM was said to have annoying bugs. These include Wi-Fi connection issues resulting to random reboots and disabled NFC connectivity.
The report continued to say that the Android Marshmallow custom ROM runs well on OnePlus One despite the bugs mentioned. A requirement before installing the custom ROM is unlocking the device's bootloader. The ROM is built on the CyanogenMod 12.1 Kernel.
A custom ROM for Android Marshmallow is also available for LG G4 according to the report. It is currently only working for the LG GV version H815. Like on the OnePlus One, users first need to unlock the device's bootloader and install the TWRP version 2.8.7 or higher. The following files should be downloaded from the XDA Developers website in order to install the ROM: LG-H81520A-Flashable.System.zip, LG-H81520A-Flashable.Modem.zip, LG-H81520A-Flashable.Boot.zip and LG-H81520A-Flashable.Bootloader.zip.
Samsung devices are also set to get the Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS update, said Venture Capital Post in an earlier report. A beta version of Android Marshmallow for Samsung Galaxy S6 is reportedly being made but has not yet launched on the devices. The Samsung Galaxy S5, Galaxy Note 4, Galaxy Note 4, Galaxy S6 Edge, and Galaxy S6 Edge Plus has also been confirmed to receive Android Marshmallow.
The Android Marshmallow update for Samsung devices could come later than other devices since Samsung has just started rolling out the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update on its smartphones. The Lollipop update contained fixes for the Stagefright vulnerability threatening Android users' privacy.
Latino Post reported that the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update offers new features like the App Standby, a power-saving feature that automatically puts apps into standby mode. The new OS version will give a revamped look to the interface, making it simpler and more convenient.
The expected arrival date of Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for the LG G4, Samsung Galaxy S5, and OnePlus One is sometime in the end of 2015 or in early 2016. Google continues to keep improving the Android platform with the Marshmallow OS update.
