One Direction member Liam Payne confirmed he broke up already with girlfriend, Sophia Smith. The couple have been dating for over two years already until calling it quits just recently.
The 22-year-old singer Liam Payne recently broke up with his girlfriend Sophia Smith after having been dating her for more than two years. The couple began dating in May 2013 although they have already met earlier than that, according to Entertainment News Online. They initially met when they were still students in Wolverhampton, England and the singer was already interested in her at the time. However, thinking Sophia wasn't interested in him, he didn't push through on asking her out then. The couple already talked about marriage when they were still together but knew they were too young for such a thing.
In an earlier interview last September, Liam admitted that Sophia needs to go off and do what she wants to do in life. The singer didn't necessarily address the break-up but it was already implied. The couple already allegedly reached a point in their relationship wherein they needed to decide whether they were to get married and settle down or go out and experience more of the world. According to Hollywood Life, Sophia decided to choose the second option to go out into the world as she believes she is still too young to settle down.
The news of their split came out days after Liam got sick and had to cancel their concert in Belfast. Despite their alleged break-up, Liam has kept himself busy despite cancelling their concert recently. People reported that Liam has a full schedule due to their album release on November 13 entitled "Made in the A.M". Their album features their newest single "Perfect".
Despite the news that One Direction is going to take an extended hiatus starting March, Liam and his co-member Louis Tomlinson assures that the two are still going to continue writing songs. That's definitely a good way to deal with a break-up.
