Android 6.0 Marshmallow brings Google Now on Tap to Android devices but it is still far from perfect. The new Android M update comes with battery-saving features and shows the amount of memory used by individual applications.

Google Now on Tap is one of the boasted features of the upcoming Android Marshmallow OS update. However, Engadget reported that the Now on Tap for Android M is still far from perfect. It was stated that Google's search results are sometimes inaccurate and limited. Now on Tap is expected to improve over time as Google continues to improve its Android OS.

Meanwhile, a report by Tech Times described how to activate and deactivate Google Now on Tap on smartphones and other devices. In order to enable the feature, users should first install Google App and activate Google Now.

When Google Now is enabled, users can access the Settings menu and go to the Voice section. A checkbox labeled Google Now on Tap will appear and can be checked to activate the feature. It should be noted that Google Now on Tap only works on devices with Android Marshmallow on board.

With just a press of a button, Google Now on Tap can search for information based on data it gathers from the user. It analyzes information and offers search results relevant to the user's query. Deactivating this feature can be done also in the Settings menu.

Google Now on Tap is not the only treat that Android M offers. According to a report by SiliconANGLE, Android M includes features that can help preserve battery life. With Android M, users can see how much memory or RAM is eaten up by individual apps in 'Memory Used by Apps' feature. There is also a way get apps excluded from Doze mode.

Android M also allows direct in-app sharing, in-app use of Google Translate, and app permissions. It can also show information on how much battery percentage is left via 'Show Embedded Battery Percentage' which can be accessed in the System UI Tuner via Settings Menu.
