Lamar Odom may be facing criminal charges after test results from his blood sample came back positive for cocaine. After recently falling into a coma while staying at a Las Vegas brothel, the 35-year-old former NBA player was rushed to the hospital. Meanwhile, two prostitutes who were paid to 'satisfy' Lamar's needs later on gave information on Lamar's drug use.
According to a report from TMZ, Lamar Odom may be faced with criminal charges before he starts to walk properly again. After blood tests showed that the 35-year-old basketball player had cocaine in his system at the time of his collapse, the Nye County Sheriff's Department confirmed that Lamar's blood test results will be turned over to the D.A. It will be in their hands then to take further action.
The felony charge Lamar will face would be for using cocaine while at the Love Ranch South in which he stayed for four days. If prosecuted, the estranged husband of Khloe Kardashian could face up to four years in prison. On the other hand, for first-time offenders like Lamar, it's not usually the case.
In another report from the New York Daily News, the two prostitutes who had been paid to 'satisfy' the athlete and found Lamar unconscious told the police that they believe Lamar was snorting something in his bathroom at the brothel and had been using some type of drug three days before he collapsed. They also added that Lamar had been mixing alcohol with herbal Viagra during his stay.
The Daily Mail UK reported that it's expected the former Lakers player will receive extensive rehabilitation therapy in the upcoming months to help improve his condition. It's also been confirmed that after being in a coma for four days, various organs of Lamar started to show sign of distress, and eventually started to fail.
However, after waking up from the coma, the 35-year-old's organs are gradually making a healthy recovery. The main concern at the moment is the functioning of his kidneys which are not doing so well, so a possible kidney transplant may have to take place. However in his current condition, it wouldn't be advised.
Although Lamar Odom is making a slow but steady recovery, wife Khloe Kardashian knows he'll never be the same. With the upcoming weeks of nonstop therapy and dialysis, Lamar still has a long way to go. At the moment, it's not yet known whether a kidney transplant will take place, and whether any charges will be filed against the former NBA star.
