The much delayed PS3 & PS4 Atlus JRPG, Persona 5 will drop summer of 2016 after being pushed back twice for both Japan and North American release.
According to the official Persona 5 website, the game will feature a "new kind of young and roguish hero." Atlus also took Shoji Meguro's compositions and breathe life into it. Plus, the stylized graphics of Persona 5 is leaps and bounds better than the previous games.
The fifth title of the series will feature a young male protagonist, much like the old Persona titles we know and love. The previous game, Persona 4, featured an older cast. The aforementioned Persona 5 protagonist is a mild mannered 16-year-old with a Phantom Thief Persona. "Yes, his Persona is a play off of the famous fictional gentleman thief, Arsène Lupin, who appeared in French writer Maurice Leblanc's novels that eventually involved Sherlock Holmes." Game Informer revealed.
The cast is completed by Ryugi Sakamoto, a head-strong rebellious problem child whose persona awakened when he meets the main character. Ann Takamaki, is a part Caucasian introverted beauty with her persona Carmen of the gypsies. Morgana is a weird feline-like character who is the mascot of this game. Yusuke Kitagawa, is the sensitive Casanova with a persona modeled after the outlaw Goemon.
Atlus released an extended trailer for the game in the 2015 Tokyo Game Show. The trailer shows the anime-inspired cut scenes and some in-game art. The graphics is outstanding as expected from Atlus. The animation of character movements alone is fluid and realistic. The sound effects is ambient and the music haunting.
Persona is a very popular JRPG which started its roots very early during the NES days in the late 80's. The original game then was know as Megami Tensei. The game then leaped forward the SNES as Shin Megami Tensei. Persona is an off-shoot of these old JRPG's that never saw an English translation. However, the NES and SNES games were fan translated years later. Fans of console emulation and ROM hacking knew about the English translation for years now.
