"Mindfreak" magician Criss Angel cancels his show in Las Vegas to attend to his sick son.
On Saturday, the famous magician straightaway cancelled his show for the first time in seven years due to a "family emergency." Later, it was known that Angel had flown to Australia after learning that his 20-months-old son was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia.
This news delivered both shock and concern to Criss's fans as he was never public regarding his family affairs. Reportedly, for most people it was their first time knowing that the 47-year-old is actually a loving husband and father.
In a report by TMZ, Criss is officially married to his singer-songwriter girlfriend, Shaunyl Benson, and his son who is turning two, is named Johnny Chrisstopher Sarantakos.
While the reason for keeping his married life is unknown, the illusionist has decided to dispel the illusion that he's single and has went to fully support his son who's undergoing a hard time.
"In light of a family emergency the news I was going to announce this weekend will be postponed. Thank you," the magician posted in twitter for his fans.
Criss, whose real name is Christopher Nicholas Sarantakos, is spending all his time for his toddler who has started undergoing chemotherapy in Australia.
Criss, who's known to be a dedicated performer, already having 3,000 performances at the Luxor, had given up the show to be with his family during this hard time. The shows he had to postpone are part of his "BeLIEve" tour and it may take a while for fans to see his talents on stage again. Even so, a lot of people showed their support and prayers to Criss and his family thru his social media. To which the magician tweeted: "Thank you for all of your thoughts and prayers. Criss."
