Revlon raises over $2M in crowdfunding for women's health charities

Revlon, Inc. has recently exceeded their goal of raising $1 million on crowdfunds for women's charity organizations, mainly owing to the support of mega stars such as Halle Berry, Emma Stone, Olivia Wilde, among others.

As a global beauty product company, Revlon has proven to be a quintessential and innovative brand that's earned the trust and loyalty of many women across the globe, and its recent campaign to raise a million dollars in an effort to help other people's philanthropic ventures certainly earns the company additional points from the public.

In a report by Forbes, Revlon's goal of raising $1 million on an online fundraising competition on Crowdrise has gone on to garner more than $2 million as of today.

According to the beauty company's page onCrowdrise, their goals is to "inspire compassion and ignite the spirit of giving to important women's health causes."

Revlon's crowdfunding competition started a few days before Breast Cancer Awareness Month (October), which was a good move for the beauty company as another article by Forbes reveals that one in four Americans are willing to donate to charitable causes that are breast-cancer related.

With the growing trend among large corporations to participate in health-related charity, a survey conducted by Deloitte Millenial has shown that a majority of employees (77%) prefer to work for institutions that are doing something to help improve society.

The number isn't surprising for economists and psychologists since studies have proven time and again how a sense of purpose encourages engagement from employees, thus leading to more productivity.

Aside from better performance from employees, company leaders are also likely to be more dedicated and resolute in making their company grow if they believe in the cause the company stands for.

Revlon has yet to close their crowdfunding competition, which will award $1 million to the winning campaign while also giving away $250,000 to the 2nd runner-up.
