In a recent interview with Gamespot's Eric Makuch, Remedy Entertainment explained why their Xbox One exclusive third-person shooter game Quantum Break is taking so long to ship.
"There are many reasons the game has taken so long, including challenges associated with building a brand new universe, working with a new platform (Xbox One), and making a TV show for the first time." Said Remedy as explained to Makuch.
It can be recalled that Remedy, in its official Facebook page, called Quantum Break as the first game of its kind, where it is linked with the Quantum Break digital live-action series. "Quantum Break blurs the line between television and gameplay, integrating the two into one seamless, uniquely immersive experience."
As can be gleaned in the title, Quantum Break is about a character (Jack Joyce) with time manipulation powers. Joyce can freeze time, use time to mess with environmental effects, shoot time projectiles, and create time shields.
Makuch said that the game will focus on the heroes, while the TV series will focus on the villains.
According to Remedy, the game should've been shipped around this year. They were forced to move it to April 5, 2016 because of the aforementioned challenges and the fact that they want to polish the game further.
In the official Quantum Break blog, they showed off their custom Quantum Break game controller. Development also looks to be going as smooth as can be when Remedy Entertainment appeared in Paris Game Week a few days ago. Remedy trooped to Porte De Versailles in full force, bringing with them a full-sized van and a 20-minute demo of the game.
The Quantum Break TV series will feature Shawn Ashmore (X-Men) as Jack Joyce and Dominic Monaghan (Lord of the Rings) as William Joyce. The show will be part interactive game where the direction of the story will be affected by the choices of the player in-game.
