There are many stories describing "Lucifer" as the fallen angel and the king of hell. Yet this new TV series premiering on FOX in 2016 will give the audience another side of Lucifer as teased in the show's recently released promo.
According to Blastr, Amazon Prime has secured the exclusive screening rights to the new supernatural series and has released a brand-new trailer to celebrate. The trailer shows the charming Lucifer enjoying his time despite his confidante Maze (Lesley-Ann Brandt) reminding him to focus on something significant. After a pop star got killed in front of him, Lucifer is bent in solving the crime by helping LAPD Detective Chloe Dancer (Lauren German). Lucifer is drawn to Chloe's kindness which leads him to thinking of his own soul. The trailer also showed the angel Amenadiel (DB Woodside), who is God's emissary determined to put Lucifer back in hell.
Aside from the Amazon Prime trailer, the first teaser premiered during the World Series on FOX and since then several new promos have been released, including the promo videos "Hotter Than Hell" and "A Hell Of A Halloween" according to Fanbolt,
In a synopsis posted on TV Series Finale, the story revolves around Lucifer Morningstar, played by Tom Ellis, who becomes bored and unhappy with his reign in hell. He abandons his throne and decides to enjoy his retirement in Los Angeles, California.
"Charming, charismatic and devilishly handsome, Lucifer is enjoying his retirement, indulging in a few of his favorite things - wine, women and song - when a beautiful pop star is brutally murdered outside of Lux. For the first time in roughly 10 billion years, he feels something awaken deep within him as a result of this murder."
Based on the characters created by Neil Gaiman, Sam Kieth and Mike Dringenberg for DC Entertainment's Vertigo, "Lucifer" is produced by Warner Bros. Television, Jerry Bruckheimer Television and Aggressive Mediocrity. The pilot episode is written and executive-produced by Tom Kapinos of Californication. The series will premiere on January 2016 on FOX.
