Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon is set to drop in November 20 for North American fans. However, the game can be preloaded right now.
According to Nintendo Everything the game, "...can now be pre-loaded from the North American 3DS eShop. To do so, you’ll need 1848MB of free space on your SD card."
In the same article, Nintendo Everything also explained that those who bought the said Pokemon game digitally will receive a free 3DS theme.
Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon is a spin-off game and not one of the main Pokemon games. That doesn't mean that the game is no fun. Francisco De Meo of My Informs disclosed that the game was well received in Japan. "Even though the game has yet to be released in North America and Europe, Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon has already been released in Japan. Back in September Japanese magazine Famitsu reviewed the game, awarding it a 36/40, with the four reviewers giving the game a 9 each."
The main story of Super Mystery Dungeon is about figuring out why powerful legendary and mythical Pokemons were turning into stone. A short teaser trailer in the official Super Mystery Dungeon website shows various legendary Pokemons as well as a space Pokemon trying to figure out the mystery.
Trite as the story line may be, this game looks very polished and full of the whimsical vibe that Pokemon has been known for. The gameplay is similar to a rogue-like dungeon crawler, but get this, the player will play as a Pokemon and not the trainer. The gamer will be able to choose from 20 different Pokemons including the ever famous and adorable Pikachu.
Mystery Dungeon is developed by Spike Chunsoft and will be exclusive to the Nintendo 3DS and 2DS handheld console.
The offer for the free 3DS theme will be available until December 6 of this year only for those who pre-ordered.
