Indian investments in the US have surpassed a record of US$11 billion. This in effect has also created at least 100,000 jobs.
From 2000 to 2010, foreign direct investments made by Indian companies grew from just US$200 million to almost US$5 billion dollars by the end of that decade.
The study, entitled, "Investing in America, How India Helps Create American Jobs", measured how the US economy has benefited from business partnerships with India. The study was completed by the US India Business Council (USIBC) and is set to be released at the USIBC's annual leadership summit on July 11.
USIBC actively helps American businesses retain its competitive edge in the global economy through its Coalition for Jobs and Growth (CJG) program. The program supports the free movement of technical professionals which the USIBC says is an essential key to US job creation. They believe an open American economy will help give it the influence it needs to assure other nation's economies stay open as well.
