In "Chicago Fire" Season 2 Episode 5, Kelly Severide ( Taylor Kinney) will get the courage to get back his old position. For much of the season, his demotion has been slowly and silently gnawing at him. This time, he will be seen trying to make his way back up but whether he succeeds is not sure especially with the presence of Captain Patterson (Brian White). Meanwhile, Gabriella Dawson ( MonicaRaymund) is still mourning the death of her unborn child after last weeks tearjerker of an episode.
Cartermatt reveals that Patterson himself is not having an easy time in his new position especially now that Severide is making it known that he wants his old position back. Patterson will find himself torn between being the leader of the department and pleasing his colleagues at the same time.
Elsewhere, Chief Ray Riddle (Fredric Lehne) and Gabriella Dawson are still not seeing eye-to-eye when Riddle calls out that Dawson's condition is not as worse as she claims it to be. This will naturally not go well with Dawson who is still dealing with one of the most difficult times of her life.
Last episode, Dawson was given the bad news of her baby not being in its supposed position in her womb. Before the doctor could perform tests however, Dawson was rushed to the operating room but her baby did not survive the medical emergency.
In Hollywood Reporter's exclusive video, Dawson turns emotional when she starts talking about the loss of her unborn baby. "In my mind, we were going to be this family. We would find a house together, fix it up together, grow old in it together," she says. "But that's not the way that it worked out."
Some fans of "Chicago Fire" Season 2 speculate that the end of her pregnancy may also mean the end of her relationship with Casey (Jesse Spencer) based on the video.
Meanwhile, IB Times reports that Chief Wallace Boden (Eamonn Walker) will get into trouble with the higher ups when he offers to host a wedding at the firehouse after the original wedding venue was ruined by a fire. Is he facing another suspension after he previously botched a police operation?
Will Severide be able to fight his way back on top? Is this the end for Dawson and Casey's relationship? Tune in to "Chicago Fire" Season 2 Tuesday nights on NBC to find out.
