Windows 10 Smartphones: Microsoft Lumia 950, Lumia 950 XL to arrive in December; List Price Revealed

The two latest Windows 10-based smartphones, Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL have just been unveiled by Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella during the company's Future Unleashed event in Mumbai. These latest flagships are said set to arrive in December.

According to Tech times, both the Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL feature a WQHD OLED display that comes in 5.2 and 5.7 inches, respectively. A hexa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 supplies power for the Microsoft Lumia 950, while an octa-core Snapdragon 810 is for the larger Lumia 950 XL. As for the storage department, these new Microsoft Lumia flagships come packed with a3 GB of RAM, 32 GB of internal storage space that can be expanded up to 200 GB through a MicroSD support.

Both the Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL handsets sport a 20-megapixel back snapper with 4K video recording, OIS, and an f/1.9 aperture. On the other hand, a 5-megapixel sensor is being featured on the front-camera that comes with an f/2.4 aperture and full-HD video recording.

In addition, the back shooter module sports a triple-LED RGB flash module. These latest handsets also feature dedicated camera buttons. It is stated that the Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL are the first Lumia handsets that will operate on Microsoft's new mobile operating system, Windows 10, NDTV Gadgets noted.

Moreover, these Lumia 950 and 950 XL mobile gadgets support Windows Hello biometric system which provides the service of unlocking the device by only looking at the user's face. Yet, the biggest deal was considered the Windows 10 Continuum.

It is said that a user would be able to connect its phone to a monitor and utilize it with a Windows 10-like PC interface through using a Microsoft Display Dock which arrives with an HDMI port, DisplayPort, and three USB ports.

A report from IBN Live says that Microsoft has announced its partnership with Justdial, Paytm and Snapdeal, the three e-commerce players in India. As stated by the company, the utilization of Bing as well as the cloud-based analytics that will give and enhance customer experience will be explored by Justdial and Microsoft.

As for the price, the Lumia 950 will be holding a price tag that will go from $549 (approximately Rs. 35,800) in the US. On the other hand, the larger Microsoft Lumia 950 XL will be priced at $649 (approximately Rs. 42,300).
