'Warcraft' is an upcoming adaptation of the video games of the same name. Its official trailer has recently been released, with its fantastical imagery compared with screenshots of the original game. Director Duncan Jones plans to create a trilogy of films should his first one be successful.

The official trailer for 'Warcraft' has been recently released and brought to life the characters as well as landscapes the original game is known for. The teaser gave audiences glimpses of live-action as well as CGI work and introduced the fantasy world of Orcs and humans. It was debuted by Universal Pictures at BlizzCon, according to Polygon.

In a desperate attempt to save their existence, orcs are forced to unite with the rival army of humans to defeat a new threat. However, both sides are increasingly apprehensive at the newfound alliance. Two specific characters stood out the most - Travis Fimmel's Sir Anduin Lothar, the leader of the Alliance, and Toby Kebbell's Durotan, the noble orc chieftain of the Horde.

According to Kotaku Australia, the new trailer's imagery was compared to stills from the Blizzard Entertainment's original game of the same name and showed the resemblance between the cinematic locations its video game counterparts. Game player Aerial51zd published a compilation of shots featuring locations such as Stormwind Harbor and Stormwind City, Lakeshire in the Redridge Mountains, Hellfire Peninsula in Draenor, Stormwind Keep and even the Dark Portal.

Director Duncan Jones admitted that he wanted to "right the wrongs" of video game movie adaptations during an interview with the Guardian. The 44-year old filmmaker said that comic book films have become commercially successful in the recent years and he wanted to replicate the same for video games. Should his first live-action film prove successful, he intends to follow-up with two more for a trilogy.

'Warcraft' is an upcoming action-adventure fantasy film based on the critically acclaimed and commercially successful video games of the same name created by Blizzard Entertainment. It is scheduled to be released on July 10, 2016. It stars Travis Fimmel, Ben Foster, Toby Kebell, Dominic Cooper, Ben Schnetzer, Robert Kazinsky, Daniel Wu and Paula Patton.
