Tales of Zesteria Releases Evangelion Costume Pack DLC for PS Systems and Steam

By

Tales of Zesteria dropped the Idol Master costume pack just a month ago. Tales developer Bandai Namco is at it again last November 10 as it released the Evangelion costume set for the game.

According to Geek Snack reporter Francesco De Meo, the costume pack includes all the major characters of Neon Genesis Evangelion. "The set includes an Asuka Shikinami Langley – Rebuild of Evangelion costume for Rose, a Rei Ayanami – Rebuild of Evangelion costume for Edna, a Lieutenant Colonel Misato Katsuragi – Rebuild of Evangelion costume for Lailah, a Mari Makinami – Rebuild of Evangelion costume for Alisha and a Shinji Ikari – Rebuild of Evangelion costume for Sorey."

De Meo also clarified that the DLC is a cross-buy release. It means that the costumes purchased in the PlayStation store will be available for other versions of the game for free.

Looking at the screenshots of the costume from the official Tales of Zesteria blog is like looking at the Evangelion anime. Asuka, Rei, and Shinji looks exactly how they should look if they were in the anime. The costumes are accurate down to the little details, and the DLC pack included hairstyles and hair color customization.

Tales of Zesteria bucked an earlier monetization controversy and got excellent reviews for their PS3, PS4, and PC releases. Even PC Gamer, an institution not really big into console to PC port JRPGs, gave the game 82/100.

The aforementioned controversy was about the popular character Alisha who was not made playable in the game release. Fans were upset that Bandai did this on purpose so they can make more money by releasing a separate DLC that will make Alisha playable. Bandai Namco responded amidst the clamor by releasing the "Alisha's Story" DLC for free last November 16.

The Tales of Zesteria Evangelion DLC pack is still available on the PlaySation Store and Steam. Alisha's Story free DLC will end today. PSN codes for the Alisha DLC are region locked for the PlayStation systems, but PC codes will work for all Steam users.
