According to Headline Planet, Friday primetime series received low viewership from the 18-49 and 18-34 demographic. However despite garnering a few audience, the numbers are still strong for the network and the cable's standards.
Rowan Blanchard elaborates to TV Line that the finale is about the legacy that they want to leave behind in middle school and the thoughts that they are going to associate with the journey.
