Linden Lab, maker of shared creative spaces that included Second Life, Patterns, Creatorverse, Versu and dio, announced today its acquisition of digital distribution service firm for PC gamers, Desura. The company's service to its customers would still go on uninterrupted. Desura's team would also remain unchanged. Further, the technology used in the company would become a part of Linden Lab.
Desura developed user friendly games that were readily available in different app stores. The company put the best games, mods and downloadable content for easy buy and play access.
According to the chief executive officer of Linden Lab, Rod Humble, the talented team of Desura along with its thriving business and impressive technology would fit great for Linden Lab. He added that the acquisition would give a global platform for serving creative developers of all kinds. Further he said that Linden Lab is looking forward to grow with the Desura gamer community worldwide and its portfolio of diversified games.
The acquisition of Desura marked the second for Linden Lab this year. This was after the company's purchase of Blocksworld that would soon be released globally.
