'John Wick 2' is an upcoming thriller film starring Keanu Reeves in the title role. He is seen filming in New York with a new dog friend. Several behind-the-scenes footage as well as on-set photographs have been released showing Reeves in various action scenes.
According to Movie Pilot, lead actor Keanu Revees has begun filming for the sequel of the action-packed series following a hired assassin who comes out of retirement to seek revenge. The iconic hitman returns for a second time and has been spotted on the streets of New York by several enthusiastic fans. Several Instagram users posted images of Reeves in character sporting his signature suit and beating up bad guys.
More photographs posted on Just Jared showed Reeves all bloodied up - presumably after a stunning action sequence that gets him fighting against numerous antagonists. He is also seen walking with a new dog that is a stark contrast from Daisy the Beagle puppy from the preceding film. The brutal killing of Daisy, a final gift from his deceased wife, prompted John Wick to seek vengeance against the mobsters responsible for the tragedy.
Chad Stahelski has also jumped aboard to helm 'John Wick 2'. His co-director on the first film David Leitch, will not be returning for the second installment. The duo worked with Reeves on 'The Matrix' as stuntmen and eventually moved on to directing the actor on the highly popular neo-noir thriller film.
Video footage posted on Collider showed Reeves in various scenes during principal photography. One video featured a fight scene in what seemed to be an alleyway. John Wick was cornered by two men clad in black and he had to fend them off in hand-to-hand combat.
A second video showed John Wick stepping out of his vintage car and walking towards a man sprawled on the ground after what looked to be the aftermath of an attack. He bent down to pick up some things from the man and walked away afterwards. The two scenes didn't give much of a plot away but hinted at the action to expect in the upcoming film.
'John Wick 2' is an upcoming sequel to 2014's critically-acclaimed action thriller film directed by Chad Stahelski and David Leitch. It will star Reeves, Common, Bridget Moynahan, Ian McShane, John Leguizamo, Lance Reddick and Ruby Rose. Filming began in New York City in October 2015.
