The Samsung Galaxy A7 smartphone is up for the Android 6.0 Marshmallow upgrade early next year. The device is just now waiting for the approval of the software to the phone.
Android 6.0 Marshmallow upgrade is expected to be rolling out to the Galaxy A7 devices with model number SM-A7100 by the first or second quarter of 2016. According to a leaked information from a British web site, the official release to the device of the biggest Android software in history will commence after the initial testing proves the software of best quality.
The Galaxy A7 device is a mid-range smartphone first released in February 2015. It sports a 5.5-inch display made of Super AMOLED screen protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass 4. The phone boasts a 13 MP main camera, 2 GB of RAM, and a non-removable 2600 mAh battery.
Samsung also confirmed the Android 6.0 Marshmallow upgrade to Galaxy A8, Galaxy A5, Galaxy A3, Galaxy E7, Galaxy E5, Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy Note 4, Galaxy Note Edge, Galaxy S6 Edge+, Galaxy S6 Edge, Galaxy S6, Galaxy Alpha and Galaxy Tab S2, among many others.
Android 6.0 Marshmallow software will be bringing in notable new features and improvements. Here's a quick rundown to what the software will offer:
1. USB Type-C support. New cables might not be suitable for some but the USB Type-C is a fresh innovation in the tech department. It is a tiny reversible USB format that can be used for phones, tablets and laptops alike. The cable can also be used when transferring data between devices.
2. App menu and app search bar. These features received a new design These features have new design with the app menu now to be scrolled vertically while the app search bar comes with at the top of the app menu. The menu becomes smoother and faster offering recently used apps.
3. App standby. This intelligent feature disables apps that have not been used for a long time so they would not consume network data when device is set for automatic sync. However, when the phone is being charged idle apps will be activated.
