It's just as well that the Thanksgiving hiatus had given the good men and women of 'Criminal Minds' splendid Behavioral Analysis Unit (BAU) time to rest, because their lives will never be the same once the show returns on December 2. The code word of this mid-season might be 'return' - as Rossi rekindles things with an old flame, JJ just might sign up again, and the Dirty Dozen, the fiercest foes that the BAU has faced so far, is about to make an unforgettable comeback.
The Dirty Dozen, which is made of highly trained, ruthless assassins, has not only foiled time and again the BAU's efforts to find them, but has even gone on the offensive. And this time, they are out to eliminate the BAU's smart and savvy tech analyst, Penelope Garcia (Kirstin Vangness), forcing her to enter a witness protection program.
This will all unravel in the episode "Internal Affairs," according to Carter Matt. The BAU will just have more than just the Dirty Dozen on its hands as an internet drug cartel surfaces and kills two DEA agents and .wounds another. Hotch (Thomas Gibson) and company also team up with the National Security Agency who has their own score to settle with the internet gang. These are two different groups with their own MO, and yet there are hints that the BAU's working in one case just might finally solve the other.
Fortunately, it's not just all blood and death, accompanied by the usual paranoia, as the 11th season gets into gear. Fan favorite JJ (A.J. Cook) who made a guest appearance before Thanksgiving might be staying for much longer, according to a report from Latin Post.
But the big buzz comes from TV Guide which reported that the three-divorced ladies' man, suave Agent David Rossi (Joe Mantegna), just might find that love can be better the nth time around - especially if it's with your ex who is the mother of your child.
'Criminal Minds' has always kept its loyal fan base glued to its seats with its unpredictable plots, nail-biting twists, and characters who entrench themselves in the viewers' hearts and minds. Will Rossi get married for a fourth time? Will JJ finally settle down in the BAU for good? Who'll crack the criminal's code once Garcia goes into hiding? The only way to find out is to keep watching. The ninth episode will be shown on December 2 at 9 PM on CBS.
