Today, KNOT Offshore Partners LP announced that KNOT Shuttle Tankers AS, its subsidiary, signed a share acquisition agreement to buy Knutsen Shuttle Tankers 13 AS's Carmen Knutsen. The acquisition price was US$145 million less of around US$89.1 million current bank debt.
The agreement was said to be under a particular post-closing adjustments. The purchase was anticipated to be finalized on or before the first day of August.
The acquisition price would be settled by paying US$45.4 million. KNOT would also provide a loan for Knutsen worth US$10.5 million. Fortaleza Knutsen and the Recife Knutsen's senior loan facility was currently being modified. This would increase the company's borrowing capacity by US$25.4 million.
The Carmen Knutsen was a 157,000 ton shuttle tanker. It was built by Hyundai Heavy Industries. In January 2013, Carmen Knutsen was delivered to KNOT. It was operating under a deal with Repsol Sinopec Brasil, BV that would last for five years.
