‘Star Ocean: Integrity and Faithfulness’ release in Japan gets delayed; is U.S. launch affected too?

By

Game publisher Square Enix has announced that the official release of "Star Ocean: Integrity and Faithfulness" for the Japanese market has been delayed. However, it is still not yet clear if the same announcement will be made by the company for the action role-playing game's U.S. version.

Originally, "Star Ocean: Integrity and Faithfulness" was set to come out in Japan on Feb. 25, 2016, according to Siliconera. But, in a recent update made by Square Enix, the studio confirmed that the game's release date has been moved by a month. The game is now scheduled to debut on March 31 next year.

The company did not go into detail regarding the exact reasons regarding the game's delay. Square Enix only noted that the development team working on "Star Ocean: Integrity and Faithfulness" needs a bit more time to polish the game's quality.

As for gamers in the U.S., Square Enix previously mentioned that the game will arrive in the country sometime in 2016 and will be released exclusively for the PlayStation 4 console. In Japan, however, "Star Ocean: Integrity and Faithfulness" will be available for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4, Techno Buffalo reported.

Since the U.S. version of the game does not yet have an official release date, it's unclear at this point if it will also be affected by the launch delay. Hopefully, the game publisher will release an update regarding the game's arrival in the U.S. in the near future.

As to what gamers can expect in the upcoming game, "Star Ocean: Integrity and Faithfulness" will feature the same combat system utilized in previous "Star Ocean" titles. Basically, battles will begin once a monster or opponent sees the gamer's character, CrossMap has learned.

Depending on how far the character is from the enemy, he or she will be automatically equipped with a short or long range attack configuration. Aside from offensive moves, players will also be able to defend against attacks as well as counter the blocks of their enemies.
