Lenovo is working with Razer to create new variety of gaming PCs with higher processing power and lot new designs. These companies will be releasing the product of its partnership, the Lenovo Y Series Razer Edition, sometime in 2016.
According to International Business Times, the partnership will merge Lenovo's engineering expertise with Razer's immersive technology, enhancing the overall gaming experience. Both companies have already unveiled the first product of their joint venture, the prototype of the first-ever Razer Edition of the Lenovo Y series. The new product will integrate the Lenovo's extensive global reach and Razer's core gamer communities.
Min-Liang Tan co-founder and CEO at Razer stated that "This agreement opens opportunities to advance the gaming lifestyle through world-class product in unprecedented ways".
Yibada reported that the two tech companies made the announcement at DreamHack Winter 2015 in Jonkoping, Sweden, where avid gamers have gathered to witness various competitions.
Lenovo executive Victor Rios noted that the partnership between the two companies aims to combine the style of Razer with the design and of the Lenovo Y series. In fact, the device reportedly sports the signature Chroma lighting that is seen on Razer products. Moreover,
Apart from this, the Lenovo's vice president and general manager of workstation BU further stated that Razer's expertise, when it comes to providing the best products for gamers and Lenovo's excellence in design, manufacturing and engineering, would seemingly head to new experiences for players in the near future.
Fortune added that both companies are looking to equally double down efforts to fast track the development of new technologies which include gaming experience enhancements. The Lenovo and Razer strategic partnership will also extend to multiple new designs and products, plus discover potential cross-selling opportunities in the near future.
While the companies collaborates for Lenovo Y Series Razer Edition, both Razer and Lenovo will still continue to distribute and market their own separate lines of products, including the Razer Blade gaming laptops. The gaming PCs are expected to be launched in the Consumer Electronic Show 2016, serving as the first joint product of the two tech giants.
