Cory Monteith, who plays Finn Hudson on the hit television show 'Glee' was found dead in his hotel room in Vancouver, Canada. According to police officials, there were no signs of foul play and the cause of death was not readily apparent on the scene.
The Fairmont Pacific Rim Hotel staff called paramedics were called after Monteith, who had checked into the hotel last July 6 failed to check out as scheduled Saturday. According to results of the initial investigation headed by Vancouver Police Department acting chief Doug LePard, through a news conference, said that there were other individuals int he hotel room with the deceased last Friday. It was found in hotel records that he returned, apparently alone, back to his room early Saturday where he apparently died.
The Fox Network series was one of the surprise hits from four years ago. Aside from the success of the television show, songs that were used by the Glee club members have had a resurgence, making them amongst the top downloads on iTunes and other music streaming websites.
With the death of Monteith, the franchise may be put in a tailspin. The financial effects are still to be realized for the show and the network.
