Kate Beckinsale recently commented she was "doing fine" despite the divorce with her husband of 11 years, Len Wiseman. According to US Weekly Magazine, when asked how she was after the split, Beckinsale told her friends she was fine and "It is what it is".
She was recently mentioned in a tweet being spotted in Prague, where filming of "Underworld: New Generation" is currently underway. Beckinsale reprises her role as the vampire death dealer, Selene. Filming began in mid-October, and Beckinsale reportedly continued to focus on her work and busy schedule despite going through the divorce.
Beckinsale and Wiseman, both 42, first met on the set of "Underworld" in 2002. She was the female lead, while he was the director of the film. At that time, Wiseman was still married to his wife, Dana, a kindergarten teacher. Beckinsale was with her partner, Welsh actor Michael Sheen ("The Queen", "Masters of Sex"), with whom she shares a daughter, Lily Sheen. Both ended their current relationships and got married in 2004.
According to Mirror, the couple had been living separately for months now before confirming the split. A source said that both tried hard to make the marriage work, but still ended up fighting. They both have demanding schedules and have simply grown apart. The source also added that both are still friendly with each other and drama is non-existent, especially on Beckinsale's part.
Wiseman was recently seen out with another woman, 24-year-old model CJ Franco, while rumors of a re-kindling romance with Beckinsale and her "Pearl Harbour" co-star, Ben Affleck have been circulating. Affleck is recently divorced from his wife of ten years, actress Jennifer Garner, his co-star in "Daredevil" and "Elektra". The rumors suggest the two have recently been in contact with each other, seeking comfort and support on their similar situation. It was also rumored the two have been involved while filming "Pearl Harbour."
Underworld: New Generation is the fifth installment in the "Underworld" film franchise. Filming is expected to wrap up by December 18. Details of its storyline are still unknown.
Charles Dance ("Game of Thrones", "Dracula Untold") and "Divergent" star Theo James reprise their roles as father and son, Thomas and David, from "Underworld: Awakening". They will be joined by Laura Pulver, James Faulkner, and Tobias Menzies. India Eisley is yet to confirm her return as Eve, Selene and Michael's hybrid daughter.
Underworld: New Generation will debut in theaters worldwide on October 21, 2016.
