Despite the multiple delays, developer Harmonix now finally revealed the PS4 release date of the PS2 cult classic, including thirty of its new tracks.
Harmonix, the developers who brought Rock Band to the gaming world shall have a PS4 release of the PS2 cult classic, Amplitude, on January 5, which may be purchased digitally from the PlayStation Store at $20. Furthermore, Gamespot reported that people who backed the kickstarter campaign at $40 would be able to play two weeks earlier, or starting December 23 as Sony revealed in a PlayStation blog. The game shall also launch to PS3, but a release date is yet to be revealed. Originally scheduled for a March 2015 release, the game was delayed and delayed once more. The latest delay was due to Harmonix' decision to increase the scope of the game which included adding online leaderboards, new environments, and new game modes.
Over thirty songs shall be included in the game, featuring music from artists who have also worked for Minecraft, Transistor, and the likes, according to Design & Trend. These artists include Darren Korb of Transistor, C418 of Minecraft, Insomniac Games, and Freezepop, to add to music crafted by Harmonix' resident talented composers.
The PS4 version of the game shall include a single player campaign along with competitive and cooperative local multiplayer modes. The upcoming Amplitude is the new Kickstarter version of the 2002 PS2 Amplitude franchise. On 2014, the game has impressively raised $844,127 as the crowdfunding cards were stacked in its favor, reported Engadget.
Amplitude, along with other 112 games shall be playable on the upcoming PlayStation Experience. The PS4 version of the game developed by Harmonix shall officially launch on January 5 and may be purchased digitally from the PlayStation Store for $20. A PS3 version of the game is also in existence, but is yet to be announced.
