The COO of game publisher Electronic Arts Peter Moore confirmed that a new "Titanfall" game is set to come out next year. The executive made the revelation while addressing the attendees of the recent Credit Suisse Technology, Media and Telecom Broker Conference,PlayStation Lifestyle reported.
According to Moore, EA has several major titles lined up for the company's 2017 fiscal year, which will begin on April 1, 2016 and end on March 31, 2017. For this year-long window, Moore said that the company is preparing to release new installments from its popular franchises such as "Mass Effect," "Battlefield" and "Mirror's Edge."
But probably one of the highlights of Moore's presentation was when he said that a new "Titanfall" game will also debut during this period. The executive, however, did not mention which date the upcoming game will come out or if it will arrive in 2016 or 2017.
Moore also did not clarify if he was talking about the official "Titanfall 2" title or the spin-off games developer Respawn Entertainment is currently working on for mobile devices. Earlier last month, Develop reported that the studio has entered into a partnership with mobile game maker Particle City to create "Titanfall"-based games for the iOS and Android platforms.
Since the mobile games will be handled by publisher Nexon, it's probably safe to assume that Moore was actually referring to "Titanfall 2", which is the upcoming console title. Respawn Entertainment has already been working on the next installment in the growing "Titanfall" series for some time now, Examiner reported. Hopefully, more details regarding "Titanfall 2" will be released by EA and Respawn Entertainment in the near future.
The first game in the series, "Titanfall," debuted on March 11, 2014 for the PC, Xbox One and Xbox 360 platforms. Although the original game came out as an Xbox-exclusive title, Respawn Entertainment previously assured gamers that its sequel will also be available for the PlayStation 4.
