Crown Castle International Corp. announced contractual terms regarding leasing agreements, in light of recent AT&T acquisition of Leap Wireless International, Inc.
At the end of June 2013, AT&T represented 19% and Leap Wireless represented 3% of Crown Castle's consolidated site rental revenues. Both carriers currently reside in approximately 1,300 Crown Castle towers. The Crown Castle revenue coming from Leap Wireless from the 1,300 towers represents roughly 2% of the Crown Castle consolidated site rental revenue. Crown Castle announced that AT&T has approximately ten years and Leap Wireless four years of current term remaining on all lease agreements.
Crown Castle leases, owns and operates towers and other infrastructure for wireless communications. The company offers significant wireless communications coverage to 98 of the top 100 US markets and to all of the Australian population. Crown Castle manages, owns, and operates approximately 30,000 wireless communication sites in the US and estimated 1,700 wireless communication sites for Australia.
