Sika acquires JMTexsa and Texsa India Ltd

Sika acquired JMTexsa, S.A. de C.V. of Mexico and Texsa India Ltd. The companies are two of the leading manufacturers of waterproofing membranes. Sika signed an agreement for acquisition with the French industrial group Soprema. The acquisitions of the two companies strengthened Sika's growth strategy and accelerated the expansion of the company in emerging markets. The companies acquired generated annual sales worth CHF23 million in 2012 and currently have approximately 100 employees.

JMTexsa, S.A. de C.V. of Mexico und Texsa India Ltd. produce bituminous waterproofing membranes for the roofing market. With the recent acquisition, Sika gains market access to important roofing and waterproofing markets in Mexico and India. The acquisition firmly established Sika as the world market leader for thermoplastic membranes.

Sika CEO Jan Jenisch: "These acquisitions enable us to further accelerate our growth strategy in the emerging markets. We gain two established production sites and obtain an excellent foundation for the development of the promising Mexican and Indian markets."
