Jolene Purdy joins the cast of "Orange is the New Black" Season 4, however, her character hasn't been announced yet. Laura Prepon has confirmed that "Mad Men" creator Matthew Weiner will be a guest director in the 4th installment. Then the premiere date of the show has been speculated to be around June 2016.
"Under the Dome" alum Jolene Purdy officially joins the cast of "OINTB". According to Deadline, Purdy has finally booked a character in the upcoming season of the Netflix/ Lionsgate prison drama series. Although, it has not been revealed whether the 32-year-old American actress will be portraying a new inmate or another character.
On the other hand, "Mad Men" creator Matthew Weiner has been reported to direct a season 4 episode in the show. With that being said, cast member Laura Prepon (as Alex Vause) confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter that she already shoot a scene with Weiner.
She revealed saying, "We filmed a huge day on Sunday and a lot of directors might have been overwhelmed by that but he wasn't and he knew exactly what he wanted to do. With a huge cast like ours, when you have a director who knows exactly what they want, it makes everything go a lot smoother. I love Matt -- he's awesome." Matthew Weiner is known to be Jenji Kohan's longtime friend.
Speaking of the speculated air date, Fansided notes that seasons 2 and 3 were both released in the month of June. Whereas "OITNB" season 2 premiered on June 6, 2014 while season 3 aired on June 11, 2015. Hence, if this schedule will be followed, OITNB Season 4 will likely premiere this coming June.
