After having filed for divorce last year, Antonio Banderas and Melanie Griffith finally have their divorce final, effective on December 20, 2015. The couple has decided to split all their properties equally, while Antonio continues to provide spousal support.
The couple Antonio Banderas and Melanie Griffith decided to end their almost 20 years of marriage last year when they filed for divorce. After more than a year in process, it has already been finalized and they will officially be divorced already. According to Entertainment Tonight, court documents have indicated that Antonio will pay Melanie $65,000 every month for spousal support and the two have decided to split their earnings in half from their movies from 2004 and 2014. They also sold their Los Angeles mansion and split their profits.
The 58-year-old actress has cited irreconcilable differences with Antonio as the reason for their divorce. It has appeared that the break-up has been civil and kept everything on a balanced ground since their announcement of the divorce in June 2014. As reported by Los Angeles Times, Melanie said in a statement that they have thoughtfully and consensually decided to end their marriage of almost twenty years. In separating their possessions, Melanie gets to keep her jewelry, clothes and some of their furniture, while Antonio gets to keep his motorcycles and some other electronic equipment, and both of them each get a Picasso and a Porsche.
When it comes to their daughter, Stella, they both still share time with her. Antonio has allegedly decided to move to New York City to be closer to her as well, according to Inquisitr. He says he wants to do everything that he could to remain a good father to her and admits to missing having been living with her in just the same house. He is hopeful that he and Melanie will remain friends despite the divorce.
Although, the couple has decided to end their marriage, they assure everyone that they will in fact remain friends. They ended things between them while still being in a good place in their lives.
