The Flash's second half of the second season, which will air starting January 2016, promises more speedster actions and life-changing character development as Killer Frost (Danielle Panabaker) launches an attack on Central City, Earth-2's Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) reveals his true identity, and Iris West encounters a new potential love interest.
This turn of events follows the heartwarming mid-season Christmas episode where Barry finally forgives Harrison Welles (Tom Cavanagh), Joe West (Jesse L. White) meeting his long-lost son Wally, and Jay (Teddy Sears) and Caitlin having their first kiss.
TV Line first broke the news of a new boyfriend for Iris who lost the love of her life, Eddie Thawn, in the final episode of season 1. The CW is casting for a twentysomething African-American to play Scott, Iris' new boss and eventual romantic interest. Not that this will be love at first sight. TV Line hints that the Iris-Scott relationship will start with friction as the two butt heads about the different ways they do journalism.
More intriguing, though, were Cosmic Book News' shots of images taken on the set of "The Flash" which was shooting in Vancouver. The stunt-double of Killer Frost was on a full-scale attack against the poor citizens of Central City. In the comics, Killer Frost is a lady villain who can emit freeze rays from her bare hands. Her human alter ego, Caitlin Snow, though, is still with the good guys in Central City. Thus, chances are this Killer Frost belongs on Earth 2, and Garrick in uniform as the Flash of that world supports that opinion.
But the spoiler generating the most buzz is Design and Trend's image of Earth-2's Barry who is more stylish, cocky, and aristocratic than our favorite forensic scientist. This Barry Allen appears to be more of a GQ-style journalist than a member of the police force. He also seems to put to rest the theories that the Earth-2 Barry Allen is the secret identity of Zoom, the demonic speedster out to steal the speed force from the Flash of Earth 1.
"The Flash"'s second season will continue airing in The CW starting January 19, 2016.
