Bill Cosby's Sexual Allegations Revoke Comedian's Temple University Honorary Degree

By

Temple University is now planning to disassociate Bill Cosby from them and revoke his honorary degree. It started with numerous allegations of sexual assault and offense.

Though it has yet to be decided by the court whether he's guilty of it all or not, one can't deny the negative effects it already had on the legendary actor's legacy. Everyone used to love him and now most of his supporters despise him. Even the people who are close to him personally, looking at him from a negative light and perspective under a very different circumstance are now looking at him differently. They never expected that something like this would explode. It started from one accusation, and it all went downhill from there.

Today, the now infamous legend is facing a whole new challenge: his alma mater, Temple University, is planning to revoke his honorary degree. Page Six reported that the faculty of the said university not only wants to revoke his honorary degree but also wants to condemn Bill Cosby. Sadly, it is another negative blow on the 78 year-old actor's career and personal life that is caused by the allegations.

According to USA Today, the university heads are receiving so much pressure not just from the faculty members but also from the students themselves to take immediate action regarding the university's association with Cosby, who stepped down as a trustee last year. Apparently, they feel like the disgrace of his alleged sexual offenses would eventually taint them too.

However, reports have been circulating that the decision has already been made. In a report by Philadelphia Magazine it said, "the vote was done after faculty senate members were made aware of a deposition where Cosby admitted to giving women quaaludes and later having sex with them." It was also stated that Temple University is not the only university who have either revoked his honorary degree or are considering it. There's also Swarthmore College and Drexel University. The only one though, who says that they will never revoke Cosby's honorary diploma is the University of Pennsylvania, saying they never take back honorary degrees.

Bill Cosby has been a longtime supporter of Temple University. And as of the late, he's continuously denying the sexual allegations that he's gotten. Nevertheless, like it has always been said, the damage has been done. Whether the allegations are true or not, it cannot be denied thatt it has ruined the household name that everyone has loved all these years.
